AMC+, the streaming platform backing and distributing this exploitation
These shows dehumanize people behind bars, normalize state violence, and misrepresent incarceration for millions of viewers.

(AOT), together with the #AIRS Campaign and Executive Director Vidal Guzman, invites you to an engaging and informative session exploring the #AIRS Campaign and its impact on media representation, justice, and advocacy. During this one-hour webinar on October 30, 6:00–7:00 PM on Zoom (link provided upon RSVP), you will learn how to use the Toolkit to better understand the ethical implications of reality TV shows that feature incarcerated individuals, formerly incarcerated individuals, and their families, examine the role of media in shaping public perception, and develop strategies to raise awareness and promote social justice.
