• We Won: A&E Cancels 60 Days In

America On Trial Inc. (AOT) & #AIRS Campaign marks a major milestone in our fight against the exploitation of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, and their families, in reality television. Thanks to the relentless work of the #AIRS Campaign — supported by 24 organizations — and the voices of activists, survivors, and allies nationwide, we are witnessing a shift in the media landscape.

Through op-eds and a movement-shaping documentary, the #AIRS Campaign has pushed this issue into the spotlight. The absence of new seasons of A&E’s 60 Days In and Inmate to Roommate is no accident — it’s proof our pressure is working. Networks are feeling the heat and can no longer ignore the harm these shows cause.

This victory is also a call to action. Next, the #AIRS Campaign will take on AMC’s Love After Lock-Up as we continue dismantling the carceral entertainment complex and challenging every show that profits from the pain and trauma of incarcerated people and their families. Our movement demands accountability, respect, and justice. With the strength of our communities and allies across the country, we will win.
